Our Impact
As the need to be more environmentally conscious becomes evermore present, we have felt compelled to explore the depths of the impact that we have on this earth, and what can be done to combat the footprint we leave on this planet.
At Nimbus Co, an awareness of the finite resources we rely on in our daily business and our personal lives has always been a focal point of our community. We do our bit to recycle, limit single-use plastics, purchase ethically manufactured and sustainable products for our studios and are mindful to support important charities, many of whom are doing great work to sustain the natural environment around us.
However, we want to do more. The greatest threat facing the natural world at this time appears to be carbon emissions and our reliance on fossil fuels. Similarly, our greatest impact on the environment as a business is our use of electricity to run each infrared sauna and neighbouring facilities. In an effort to lessen the burden we pose on the environment, we have decided to invest a portion of the business into a carbon offsetting program.
Carbon offsetting is an action intended to compensate for the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as a result of industrial or other human activity. This can be done by funding initiatives that reduce net green-house gas emissions. Planting trees is perceived as the most efficient, environmentally friendly way to withdraw carbon emissions from the atmosphere, whilst also contributing to the natural biodiversity that has been lost across the world due to land clearing and natural disasters.
HOW CAN YOU JOIN US IN SUPPORTING OUR ENDEAVOUR TO BECOME A CARBON NEUTRAL BUSINESS?
Each customer using our infrared sauna facilities will be able to make a voluntary donation to Green Fleet, our chosen carbon offset partner, which will be used to plant native trees and vegetation across important territories throughout Australia. The link to donate can be found in your booking confirmation email. Additionally, each Nimbus Co studio will be contributing quarterly donations to Green Fleet to subsidise our energy consumption in an effort to become a carbon neutral business.
