Keys to radiant health: Ama & Agni
Digestion is a major component of wellness according to Ayurveda. When we are not digesting our food properly, we get a toxic build up of undigested food known as ‘ama’. When we have a buildup of ama, it prevents our bodies from absorbing the nutrients from our food.
To improve our digestion, we need to build our metabolic capacity known as agni. Our agni can become weak from things such as eating processed foods, snacking between meals, skipping meals or overeating, eating on the fly, and not chewing food properly. If this is you, there is no shame.
