Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

A former waitress from a ‘working-class’ Puerto Rican family, Alexandria is now an American congresswoman who represents New York’s 14th district which includes Queens and the Bronx where she grew up. Progressive and passionate about social change, she is a strong voice in a new generation of politicians, tackling issues such as the Green New Deal, Medicare for All and America’s student debt crisis.

Grace Tame

Grace is a survivor of sexual assault who was unable to speak publicly about her ordeal because of a law preventing survivors to self-identify in the media. She became the first Tasmanian woman to receive a legal exemption to share her story and is the inspiration behind the #letherspeak campaign. Grace was named 2021’s Australian of the Year for her work as an advocate for raising awareness on sexual assault and pushing for legal reform.

Greta Thunberg

Fueled by a desire for drastic action, Greta skipped school one Friday in 2018 to strike against climate change outside the Swedish parliament. This has since become a global youth movement demanding that governments do more to protect the earth for future generations. As an environmental activist, Greta has spoken at the United Nations, the World Economic Forum and at climate rallies across the world.

Malala Yousafzai

When the Taliban took control of Malala’s town in Pakistan, girls were no longer allowed to attend school. Malala spoke publicly about girls’ rights to an education and at 15, was shot by the Taliban on her school bus. She survived and established the Malala Fund, a charity dedicated to giving every girl the opportunity to learn. She went on to graduate from Oxford University and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.

Michelle Obama

Growing up in the south side of Chicago, Michelle’s parents instilled in her the value of hard work and an education. She attended Princeton University and Harvard Law School where she graduated as a lawyer. As the first African-American First Lady of the United States, Michelle helped launch initiatives to address children’s health, support for veterans, higher education in America and global education for girls.
